Richard Gano, tax attorney at Holtz, Slavett & Drabkin, was quoted in a Sourcing Journal article on the tax liens filed against Yeezy Apparel LLC, owned by Ye.  The liens were filed by California’s Employment Development Department (EDD).

Taxing authorities such as the EDD file tax liens to secure the government’s interest when Taxpayers owe money.  This happens once the government assesses a tax against the taxpayer.  The tax lien is filed in the public records.  While a filing of a tax lien is one collection action a taxing authority can take against a taxpayer, there are others that taxing authorities can take.

If you have questions about a tax lien, any other collection actions a taxing authority is threatening to take, or any other tax controversy matter, you can schedule a consultation with Richard.  He can be reached at 310-550-6200 or rgano@hsdtaxlaw.com. His profile can be accessed here.
